Our members has been using results from the international PISA study to further analyze how the United States meshes with global competition for overall educational teachings and success. An empahsis is lacking in science and math rigor becomes apparent. Here are the ongoing remarks made by PISA under the OECD.

OECD Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA)

From their webpage PISA is defined as:

The Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) is an internationally standardised assessment that was jointly developed by participating economies and administered to15-year-olds in schools. Four assessments have so far been carried out (in 2000, 2003, 2006 and 2009). Data for the assessment which took place in 2009 was released on 7 December 2010. Tests are typically administered to between 4,500 and 10,000 students in each country.

This ongoing data analysis is proof of why the US needs to step up and implement innovative strategies for teaching and assessment.
