Summit STEM Update, September 2011
Summit STEM Projects for All District Schools

Summit STEM submitted a grant request for weather stations for the elementary
schools (except Frisco which has one in the works), robotics kits and training,
materials for the DVE STEM center, and iPad applications for SMS and SHS.

With this small, initial investment in project support, we can leverage
technical assistance, evaluation and further funding support through the CSU
STEM center. CSU STEM will potentially include Summit STEM into a National
Science Foundation grant proposal. This could bring additional, much larger
funds into Summit STEM.

 Robotics Club at 4-H

4-H began its robotics class on September 13, but it’s not too late to enroll
your kids. Meetings are every other Tuesday at 5:30 at Frisco County Commons and
it's open to new and returning members.  If you are interested send an
email to Kathie Kralik:

a fantastic opportunity to facilitate robotics classes at 4-H.
Training is Saturday, Oct. 1. Contact Kathie Kralik:

Valley STEM Center is Open

Summit STEM officially opened its pilot STEM center in Dillon Valley
Elementary (DVE) on August 22. The Center is for all 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders.
